the engine is under the front seats ive just bought this old banger so i dont now much about it yet. i am a electrician so am handy,would i need any specialist tools

Simple job, I am an auto electrician too. Loosen the tension nut to remove the belt from the pulley. Unplug the electrical connections, next remove the mounting bolts and the alternator is out. Install in the reverse order
