You have to loosen the belt tensionor and it should come right off

if its a serpentine belt you put a ratchet on the tensioner pully and push or pull it till it take tension off the belt, to make it easy buy a maintenence book at your local auto parts store

Loosen the nut on top of the alternator, loosen the bolt on the bottom of the alternator, it should easily slide to loosen the belts. Remove both bolts before removal of the alternator.
