With a wrench and a screwdriver.
Look for a CHILTON'S GUIDE or other repair manual. Local libraries may have them going back a few years. See what you can turn up.
i own a shop, and you take the battery cable off of it first,,the start taking the tension of the belt,,once this is done,,you remove the bolts and wires and remove the alternator,,reverse this and that's how you install it,,be care full, and take your time,,you need a good repair manual for this vehicle,,a good Haynes repair manual would help you a whole lot on this job,,and many more you might want to do to this vehicle,,good luck hope this help,s.,happy new years.
Don't forget to remove the negative side of the terminal on your battery to keep from anything getting shorted out!!!!
Also am a mechanic and Dodge Man is right on.
the belt tension is loosened by a bolt behind and under the power steering fluid reseviour. can be a ***** to get to. other than that its about the same as any other alternator swap.
