Anyone know how to make the plug stay in a alternator if the plug is broke?

hi i just changed my alternator in my 05 dodge neon, during the instalation i broke the little %26quot;tab%26quot; on the plug that holds it in the alternator. so now it wont stay in therfore the alternator wont work. i guess my question is does anyone know how to make the plug stay in without that lilttle %26quot;tab%26quot;. can i stick it in there then put like silicone to keep it in? any feedback would be great thnx

sounds so simple....i've done something similar...if you don't have money for, or just can't find another plug, try....Electrical tape, the black stretchy stuff..it will wrap around and stretch tight to hold the little plug end in place

My simple repair has lasted for years...hope it works

go get another plug.

and solder it in.......

do it the right way once!

and never have to do it again
Above post is correct. Buy a new end plug, they're cheap enough. Put about 5 minutes of labour into it and you won't have to worry about it again.
you can replace the plug on it most parts stores carry these on their help line of automotive parts, that's a common problem for those to break off,you might be able to use some sort of glue or silicone on it but it would be just as easy to replace it and be done with it,this way you don't have to worry about it coming off, good luck on it,
